TAQ participates in soft launch ceremony of PIMEC 2023

The TAQ Organization' (TTO) was invited to participate in the soft launch ceremony of premier edition of Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference (PIMEC 2023) organized by Pakistan Navy, Ministry of Maritime Affairs Government of Pakistan and Badar Expo Solutions at Marriott Hotel Islamabad on July 26, 2022. PIMEC is scheduled to be held at Karachi Expo Centre from February 10 – 12, 2023.

Participants of the ceremony comprised top Government functionaries, senior diplomats, military officials, representatives of the media, academia and distinguished guests from different sectors of the economy. The chief guest at the ceremony was Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif. Also present on the occasion were Minister for Maritime Affairs Faisal Sabazwari and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M. Amjad Khan Niazi. Representing TAQ at this high profile event was its GM Business Development Rawalpindi/Islamabad Chaudhary Muhammad Afzal.

Addressing participants at the ceremony the Defence Minister appreciated Pakistan Navy for taking the initiative to exhibit potential of maritime sector through PIMEC. He said that Pakistan offered enormous opportunities for profitable investments, joint ventures and trade in the maritime sector. The Defence Minister highlighted the need for development and special focus on trans-shipment ports, efficient ship-breaking industry, fisheries industry, coastal tourism, water sports and aqua culture. He emphasized on the integration of public-private partnership in maritime industry to achieve optimum results.

Earlier in his address the Chief of the Naval Staff appraised that PIMEC would be the flagship event of Pakistan and was planned to be held biennially for demonstrating latest technology of national and international maritime industry. He added that the exhibition would serve as one of the international gatherings of entrepreneurs, R&D specialists, financial experts and top level policy makers to boost cooperation, share knowledge and support ventures in the maritime field. The Admiral expressed his gratitude and hoped that PIMEC 2023 would prove to be a boon for the national economy and help raise the international stature of Pakistan.

Earlier in his welcome speech the CEO of Badar Expo Solutions Zohair Naseer said that it was a proud moment in collaborating with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Pakistan Navy to make PIMEC a premier and successful maritime event contributing towards capitalizing the potential of blue economy.
